Currently jailed under PSA, Srinagar man’s house raided by NIA

 

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday carried out a raid at a residential house in Rustum Colony, Ikhrajpora area of Srinagar as part of an ongoing investigation into a terror-related case.

Sources said the raid was conducted at the home of Hashim Farooq Mir, son of Farooq Ahmad Mir. Hashim has been identified as an Over Ground Worker (OGW) and is currently detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.

According to officials, the raid was linked to investigations in Case FIR No. RC 01 of 2025, being handled by the NIA Jammu. The case involves serious charges under Sections 16 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and Section 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Prior to being taken over by the NIA, the case was initially registered as FIR No. 66/2024 at Police Station Kothibagh. That FIR included charges under Sections 13, 18, and 39 of the UAPA, Sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substances Act, and Sections 103, 109, 115(2), and 3(5) of the BNS.

Further investigation is ongoing.
