An early morning encounter has started between militants and Government forces at Pinglan area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District.
Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police were fired upon by Militants during a cordon and search operation in the area.
Immediately the troops cordoned off the area and the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.
In the ongoing gunfight, troopers including a high rank army officials have been injured.
As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat two to three militants were trapped in a residential house in the area.
As per the latest reports the firing has stopped.
