Three Militants, Two Government Force personnel have been killed in an ongoing encounter that raged between militants and Government forces at Turigam area in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District on Sunday afternoon.
Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 34 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after reeving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the area.
While conducting the Search Operation, the holed up Militants opened fire on the Forces, injuring three Army men including a Major.
One officer of Jammu Kashmir Police, Aman Thakur has also been killed in the encounter, while one Army man also succumbed to his injuries.
As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat three militants who were trapped in a residential house in the area have also been killed.
The identities of the Militants has not been ascertained as of yet, however they are likely associated to Jaish e Muhammad Militant outfit.
Latest reports suggest that, the forces are conducting search operations in the area.
Meanwhile, Intense Clashes have erupted between protesters and government forces erupted near the encounter site.
As soon the encounter raged in the area, the authorities suspended Mobile Internet in the area.
