Militancy has Increased in Kashmir During BJP Rule

April 06

Senior Congress leader and former MP Dr Karan Singh has said that militancy has increased during last five years in the State, which is dangerous for the health of the country.

The former MP said this while addressing a series of public rallies at Sallan and Billawar Tehsil in favour of his son Vikramaditya, who is candidate of Congress for Udhampur parliamentary constituency.

Speaking on the issue of Art 370 and 35A with the reporters during the rallies, Dr Karan Singh said that the matter is in Supreme Court which will decide the fate of it.

On PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti’s statement that the foundation of Article 370 was set by Maharaja Hari Singh, Dr Singh replied that his father Maharaja Hari Singh had signed instrument of accession with India and got special status for J&K state but Article 370 came in constitution after accession of State with the country.

Terming the Pulwama attack failure of Government and a big security lapse, the senior Congress leader demanded an inquiry into it. Dr Singh said that he has contested and won the Udhampur parliamentary seat four times with the support of local people on Congress mandate and now when his son Vikramaditya Singh is contesting on the same seat, he has come to them to seek vote for him.

Criticizing the policies of BJP terming them anti-people anti-secular, he said BJP divides the society for personal interest, but Congress believes in unity of all castes, creed and colors of society and taking all the communities together for the development of the Country.

On the occasion, a large number of local people led by BL Kandley joined the Congress party in the presence of Dr Karan Singh, District president Manohar Lal Sharma and MLC Balbir Singh.
