After a day of low voter turout in Islamabad (Anantang) district of South Kashmir in general and negligible voting in Islamabad (anantnag) township on Tuesday, the Government Forces allegedly damaged a electric transformer in Sherpora locality of this township.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that minor clashes had erupted in the area to which forces responded with immense tear smoke shelling, during the clashes the forces also damaged a transformer and our locality has become dark, they said.
They said that a truck returning from Election duty from Achabal to Islamabad township was pelted with stones near Shirpora Bala area of the township during which the driver lost control of the vehicle and it turned turtle causing injuries to the driver.
The driver was shifted to the nearby hospital.
The clashes had begun immediately after the elections were over at 4PM.
