An encounter has started between militants and Government forces at Bagendar area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (anantnag) District.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday morning 3 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the area around 2 am.
The cordon continued for nearly two to three hours, during which the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.

All the entry and exit points of the area have been sealed by the Forces.
As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat two to three Local militants were trapped in the area.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat massive exchange of fire is being heard at the site of the encounter. They said that one of the Militant trapped at the encounter site is from Islamabad (anantnag) township.
Mobile internet services have been barred in Islamabad (anantnag) South Kashmir District, Also restrictions have been imposed in the Islamabad (anantnag) township.
