Intense clashes erupted in Laizbal area of KP Road area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (anantnag) District on Thursday.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that thousands of people attended the funeral of slain, Burhan u Din Ganie, son of Mohammed Sadiq Ganie at his native in the SK Colony area of Islamabad (anantnag) township.
Scores of youth threw stones on Government Forces deployed in the area, who fired tear smoke shells at the protesters to disperse them, however, the clashes were going on when this report was filed.
Burhan Ganie, a physiotherapy student turned Militant was killed along with Safdar Amin in an encounter in Bijbehara township of South Kashmir on Thursday morning.
Clashes have also erupted in Batengoo area of the district. Also, in Bijbehara, youth clashes with Government Forces who responded with immense tear smoke shelling.
Thousands of Youth have picked up arms challenging the Indian rule in this Himalayan region of Kashmir, which is claimed by both India and Pakistan in its entirety.
The Asian neighbours have fought three wars over the region.
