Durbar Reopens in Srinagar

The Darbar Move offices opened in Srinagar on Monday after their annual move from Jammu. Civil Secretariat and other offices opened here today.

Governor, Satya Paul Malik arrived at Civil Secretariat where he was given a ceremonial guard of honour by a contingent of the state’s armed police.

Later, addressing a media, Governor Malik said it was the Election Commission of India that has the authority to decide on when assembly polls should be held in the state.

He said the security of political workers in the state was being reviewed in Jammu Kashmir.

He said an inquiry is also being held on whether there was a security lapse that led to the killing of BJP Vice President in Verinag area of Anantnag.
