The Government forces on Saturday morning found a live hand grenade in the Chawalgam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, which was later defused.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the grenade was detected by paramilitary forces (CRPF) esrlt morning in the area, after which a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was rushed to the spot.
The device was destroyed without causing any damage, CRPF Assistant Commandant , Gul Junaid Khan, said.
He said that grenade was detected by a patrol party of 173 Battalion of CRPF in Chawalgam at morning hours, which was later successfully defused.
“Investigations in this regard are underway,” the officer added.
