Three Militants Killed in Ongoing Srinagar Encounter

Three Militants have been killed during the ongoing gunfight that broke out between government forces and militants at Pazwalpora in Zoonimar area of Srinagar  district on Sunday morning.

A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in the area by joint team of forces including CRPF and Srinagar Police on specific inputs about Militant presence in the area.

An official said that, after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, opened fire, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.

The official said that three militants have been killed so far, while their identity remains to be ascertained.

Sources identified the slain militants  as Shookar Farooq Langoo of Barthana  area in Srinagar’s Qamarwari, who joined Ansar Ghazwat ul Hind last year, Shahid Ahmed Bhat of Samthan Bijbehara who had joined of AGH, joined last year and Hilal ahmed Dar of Bemina in Srinagar, who had been missing for past seven days.

Meanwhile Internet has been snapped in the district.
