There’s no reason to Celebrate, We Will Protest on August 05, Says JKNPP

Harsh Dev Singh, chairman of the Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party, said that his party will register a protest on August 5 demanding restoration of statehood to Jammu  Kashmir

He said that promises made to the people of Jammu  Kashmir after downgrading the status of Jammu Kashmir to Union Territory have not been fulfilled.

The chairman told reporters here on Saturday: “On August 5, 2019, Jammu Kashmir was deprived of state status and divided into two federal parts.

On 5th August where BJP will celebrate this day. On the other hand, the Panthers party will register a protest at all the district headquarters on this day demanding restoration of statehood.

Harsh Dev said that Jammu Kashmir was a 200-year-old Dogra state in India. He said that after making Jammu Kashmir a Union Territory, not a single promise made to the people of Jammu was fulfilled.

“After making Jammu Kashmir a Union Territory, big promises were made to the people of Jammu in the name of development but not a single promise has fulfilled. All major projects after BJP came to power. But work is stalled, only toll plazas are being set up.

Unemployment is on the rise, with young people taking to the streets, Harsh Dev said.

It may be recalled that the Central Government had on August 5 last year repealed Sections 370 and 35A, which conferred special powers on Jammu and Kashmir, and divided the former state into two federal parts.
