Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) has scheduled an interview for the post of Registrar on 10th of August, 2020. The whole process from the advertisement to conduct of the interview was completed in less than 4 weeks.
The sitting registrar resigned from the post at IUST and a proxy was given the immediate charge. The candidates and the nominees were informed that the interview is to be conducted online. Which is the reason why, all the arrangements including the statement of purpose were warranted for Covid-19 and have been made to cater the needs and be in favor of a particular candidate.
The University did not bother to promote their own lot of faculty and staff who have completed more than 15 years of service in IUST to the position of Associate Professor which in turn would help the varsity in accreditation to the NAAC. The files of the senior faculty members were not processed till UGC issued new guide lines rendering these teachers ineligible to higher position and all the proceedings had been dealt judiciously.
Without being proactive, these teachers would have been Professors presently as their contemporaries in other institutions. The priorities of the University differed from it and they would want to appoint a registrar which will be of their personal choice.
The appointment of registrar is more than a necessity to devise a mechanism in order to drain out the malice and informal behavior in finance, construction and appointments which is the necessity of the situation. Being the reason why, the interview and appointments for the post of registrar were given more importance without caring for the pandemic and other unfavorable circumstances.
