Update- Four Militants Killed in Shopian Encounter

Four Militants have been killed in the encounter that broke out between government forces and militants in the Kiloora area of  of Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday.

A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and search operation (CASO) was launched in the area by a joint team of forces including Army’s 44RR, CRPF and JK police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the Kiloora area.

He said that after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, they opened fire which was retaliated, this triggering an encounter.

The official said that during the gunfight four Militants have been killed, who are yet to be identified.

The search operations to trace out the bodies of slain Militant are still on, the firing has stopped.

Meanwhile, the internet has services are likely to be snapped in the South Kashmir’s Shopian District, the Militants are from the Al Badr Outfit, as per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat

Sources meanwhile said that one Militant was caught alive at the site of the encounter.
