Lockdown Initiated In Ganderbal Due to Covid Numbers Surging

As it is observed in District Ganderbal, public has been thronging unnecessarily to markets and also not following SOP’s/advisories in vogue which has resulted in a surge in number of COVID-19 positive cases.

Whereas the District Administration felt expedient to break further transmission of COVID-19 and imposed complete restrictions in prevention of global pandemic w.e.f 29th August to 5th of September, 2020.

As intimated earlier the Police will initiate stringent action against those found guilty of violating the lockdown orders. Ganderbal Police have been acting tough from day one against the brazen violators to ensure complete implementation of Sec 144 CrPC, in view of continuous surge in a number of positive cases due to pandemic disease Covid’19.

In this regard, five FIR’s were registered as mentioned below:
55/20 U/S 188,269 IPC PS GUND, 182/20 U/S 188, 269,270, 183/20 U/S 188,269 IPC PS GANDERBAL, 184/20 U/S 188,269,270 IPC, 185/20 U/S 188,269,353 IPC in which (02) shops, (04) vehicles and (08) persons have been arrested for violating Government restrictions order.

In order to eradicate and to prevent the further spread of deadly virus Ganderbal Police once again requested people to support the administration by way of observing the lockdown and not to venture out of houses unnecessarily for the sake of all, otherwise contravention will abide strict action under law.
