Tehsildar of Anantnag district, Wasi Deva issued 360 Domicile Certificates on the spot to all applicants who applied for offline Domicile Certificates on Monday in the process of giving citizenship to the migrants and refugees in Jammu Kashmir.
The Jammu Kashmir administration on 1st of September had released a statement in a press conference that took place in Srinagar that, 12.5 lakh domicile certificates were issued, with over 99 percent being erstwhile to PRC holders.
Since then, 14.29 lakh Domicile Certificates have been issued against 18.

91 lakh applicants in Jammu Kashmir so far. Permanent Residents of the state have received their Permanent Resident Certificates (PRC) and shall be eligible for receiving their Domiciles on the basis of PRC only. No other document shall be recognized for the citation.
Spokesperson from the administration confirmed that 78,321 applications have been rejected for missing and incomplete documents. While 12,617 have been issued to West Pakistan Refugees, 524 to Valmiki community and 10 certificates have been issued to the Gorkha community members as on 7th of September, 2020.

To make the process easy and simple for all officials as well the residents and migrants, in the bare minimum time, SO 263 dated – 25th of August, 2020 where the Competent Authority has been bound to issue the domiciles provided under clause 1(a) and clause 4(a) within a period of five working days from the date such application is received by it.
Principal Secretary of Power Development Department and Information Department, Rohit Kansal said that the process of issuance of Domicile Certificates is picking up rapidly and certificate issuance is being monitored regularly.
