Nepal Army Built 550 Meter Long Road near Kalapani Uttarakhand, Completed Work in 4 Months

The Nepal Army has completed the construction of a 550-meter-long road Dharchula-Chhangru, connecting the two remote villages of Nepal in 4 months. The road connecting the two villages near the Indian border was demolished two years ago in a landslide.

Right after this, the Nepali government handed the road construction work to the army, because the villagers used to use this route for the travelling which passed through Sitapul, Uttarakhand.

But due to COVID-19 pandemic, the boundaries of India and Nepal were sealed. Since then, the villagers were stuck in their respective areas. And later in May, the border dispute arose between the two countries over the letter writing, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura.

In May, Nepal authorities asked the Pithoragarh (Uttarakhand) district administration to allow these villagers to use Indian roads to travel and they were granted the permission.

According to sources the total budget for the construction was Rs 1.08 crore. Sixty five army personnel and 45 labourers were deployed to complete the project. One soldier even was martyred.

The Nepal Army has started checkpoints on the border but due to lack of good roads, the ration, etc.
