A patient’s attendant Muneer Ahmed Khan, a resident of Batpora area in Kunzer, Baramulla on Saturday morning levelled serious allegations against a doctor posted at Primary Health care Centre in Kunzer Baramulla.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, Muneer Ahmed said that his cousin, Ashiq Khwaja met a minor road accident early on Saturday morning, after which his cousin rushed him to the hospital.
“I got him x-rayed, and sought the help of the available doctor to check the x-ray, however. the available doctor was talking over the phone inside his car,” Muneer said.
He alleged that upon calling the doctor many a times, he perhaps got irritated and slapped Muneer and also abused him. “I do not know the exact reasons for me being slapped by the doctors,” Muneer told The Kashmiriyat.
The Kashmiriyat spoke to various eyewitnesses of the incident inside PHC Kunzer who said that the doctor slapped the patient without any provocation.
Block Medical Officer, Dr. Ruqaiya upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat said that she has called a meeting on the incident on Monday and launched an investigation into the incident.
She also said that the Department in a initial phase has deducted one day salary of the doctor. “We will investigate the incident thoroughly,” She told The Kashmiriyat.
