The sacrifices of police in the line of their duties were marked with solemnity on the Police Commemoration Day held at District Police Lines, Ganderbal.
SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal, JKPS, paid floral tribute to all martyrs of the police of the country.
The function was held at District Police Lines Ganderbal where contingents of District Police and Home Guard especially Raksha Toli performed silent parade on the beats of pipe band and deputy SP headquarters was Parade Commander.
SSP Ganderbal, said, “The whole country is observing the Police Commemoration Day, we salute the courage, valour and sacrifices of our brave martyrs especially a recent valour action of Martyr Altaf Hussain who laid their lives for unity and integrity of the Nation and protecting the life and property of the people, he also added J&K Police department is organising various sports events across the valley on the names of our brave warriors who got martyrdom on the lines of duty.”
The function was followed by laying of wreaths and showering of flowers by DC Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal- KAS, ADC Ganderbal Farooq Ahmad Baba, Commandant CRPF 118BN Anil Dyani, Commandant BSF Adhoc K7 Khuldeep Kumar, 2IC 115BN Latif, BDC Kangan Mohd Yousuf Poswal, Additional SP Ganderbal, SDPO Kangan, Deputy SP Traffic Ganderbal, Deputy SP PC and officers, jawans, guests and the members of martyr’s families.
SSP Ganderbal with DC Ganderbal distributed essential items among NOK’S of Police Martyrs and assured the issues pertaining to J&K Police Department will be followed for proper redressal and issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with civil administration for their redressal.
