Farmers to protest on November 5 against farm laws nationwide

On Tuesday, several farmers organisations from across the nation,have decided to begin a nationwide ‘road blockade’ on November 5. To protest against newly enacted central farm laws and the proposed Electricity (Amendment) Bill.

During a meeting held by the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) in New Delhi, they planned to spearhead the fight against three anti-farmer, anti-people farm laws and the Centre’s proposed Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2020. And there shall be complete coordination of various farmers’ outfits. 

The AIKSCC farmers committee has also decided to hold a two-day ‘Dilli Chalo’ (let’s go to Delhi) protest march on November 26-27. They also called of these protests from Gurdwara Rakab Ganj where its members met to decide the future course of action.

The AIKSCC gave a statement, “The protests will include huge state-wise/region-wise build-up of mass mobilizations. Farmers will protest before all government offices including central government offices and offices of BJP leaders and their allies. They further added,” The Committee during its meeting condemned the Centre’s decision to stop operation of goods trains to Punjab unless passenger trains resume. “This is blackmail of the people and farmers of Punjab and is most unbecoming of a democratic government.”
