A encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Rangreth area of Srinagar district on Sunday afternoon.
An official told The Kashmiriyat Government forces including Special Operations Group (SOG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a cordon and search operation after inputs about presence of militants in Rangreth area.
During the CASO, the militants holed up in the area opened fire upon the forces, trigerring an encounter.
