One Militant has been killed in the ongoing encounter in Srinagar’s Rangreth area, a top police official said, adding, one more Militant has been captured alive.
Meanwhile Stone-throwing clashes have started around the encounter site in Rangreth area of Srinagar on Sunday afternoon.
Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that minor stone throwing clashes have started between protesters and Government Forces after several youth threw stones on Government Forces deployed at the site of encounter for the Anti Militancy operation going on in the area.
The Youth armed with stones tried to disrupt the operation, an official said, adding that the Forces fired a few tear smoke shells to disperse them.
The clashes were going on when this report was filed.
Meanwhile, one suspected Militant has been arrested from the site of the encounter, while another Militant has been reportedly killed.
Earlier the Government Forces including CRPF and SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation in the area after receiving inputs of Militant presence in the area.
