The Residents of Ara Koshipora Damhal and Palpora have demanded a functional of Receiving Station that is located at Ara Koshipora area of south Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District.
The Locals of Damhaal and koshipora areas in this South Kashmir district staged a protest in front of the receiving station against the Power Development Department.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the locals told that the recieving station was sanctioned in 2018. “In 2019, the work on recieving station started, but it is still incompleted and non-functional, due to which the locals face hardships especially in winter session due to frequent power cuts,” a local resident said.
The locals appealed to District Administration to intervene in the matter take immediate steps for making recieving station functional.
The Kashmiriyat contacted the Concerned AEE PDD who said that due to the ongoing global pandemic- Corona virus, the work was halted for time being.
“The work is in progress and nearly completed, the receiving stations shall soon be made functional,” he said.
