Mudasir Ali, a noted journalist associated with ‘Greater Kashmir’, passed away due to cardiac arrest early Friday morning, family sources said.
Mudasir who was also a contributor to news portal ‘The Wire’, was a resident of Charar-e-Sharief area in Budgam, Mudasir and was in his mid-30s.
As per reports, Mudasir complained of pain in his chest and was driven to a hospital in Srinagar at around 2 am on Friday, however, he had passes away before making it to the hospital.
His brother, Jehangir Ali, who is also a journalist, shared the shocking news on social media.
Reports said that Mudasir had suffered a fracture some days back for which he received treatment and was limited to working from his home.
His Nimaz-e-Jinaza, as per reports, will be offered at 10:30 am at Khankha, Charaar-e-Sharief.
Mudasir’s death has shocked the media fraternity in Kashmir as he was known for his journalistic skills and his manners.
Meanwhile, the Kashmir Press Club has expressed shock and grief over the sudden demise of Mudasir Ali.
“The sudden demise of Mudasir, who worked for Greater Kashmir and also contributed to leading national and international media organisations, is indeed a great loss to the journalistic fraternity of Kashmir,” KPC said in a statement.
At this hour of grief, the Kashmir Press Club management and the journalist fraternity of Kashmir express their sympathies and solidarity with the bereaved family especially with the younger brother of Mudasir Ali journalist Jahangir Ali.
May Allah grants the bereaved family the patience to bear this huge loss, the statement concluded.
