The family of the missing siblings from Kulgam on Monday evening after a span of more than five days has been able to trace them from the capital city of New Delhi.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat Irshad Ahmed, a family member said that the duo Younus and Faisal Hassan Dar, the siblings from Mohamed Pora in Kulgam district who as reported earlier by The Kashmiriyat had left home on 14 November 2020 to Kanpur have been traced from Cyber Police Station in new Delhi.
The Jammu Kashmir Police in Kulgam after a missing report was filed by the family swung into action and formed a team that soon met the family and left for Uttar Pradesh’s Sikandrau.
However, on the way, the phones displayed a new location, in Haryana, and soon they approached the concerned Police Station, another call they got was from Cyber Police Station in New Delhi.
“Officials from the Delhi Police called to inform us that the phones of the duo were traced in the area and they were brought to the Police Station in New Delhi’s Lodhi Market, the Officials asked us to reach the Police Station immediately, without disclosing any further details,” the family member said.
“A team of Jammu Kashmir Police that was in due contact with the Haryana Police, the last location of their cellphones, was a great help, the SHO Devender Singh personally asked us to leave a day ahead of the scheduled visit since the weather in Kashmir was expected to remain wet starting Monday morning.”
On Monday morning, the family got a call asking them to reach New Delhi’s Lodhi market. When contacted the Cyber Police Station, they said, in pursuance of SOPs they cannot disclose the identity of the duo to anyone other than a family member physically present in the Police Station.
“Yes we have traced out the cellphones, but the identity will only be known after the family is here,” an official had said.
The Family of the siblings is still inside the Police Station, however, a family member told us that one of the siblings made a call to his home. “the family members who went to trace them have called home after meeting them and assured us that they are safe and alive,” Irshad told The Kashmiriyat.
“We thank all the people who supported us, and officials of the Jammu Kashmir Police who worked shoulder to shoulder with us in tracing the siblings,” the family member said.
Note- Though The Kashmiriyat had heard it around 5:25PM that the duo were traced in Cyber Police Station in New Delhi, But as a responsible media outlet, we wanted to ensure that the family meets the duo first and identifies them.
