The Locals from Narwa area in Pulwama district of South Kashmir on Wednesday alleged that the Government Forces assaulted locals during a cordon and search operation launched in the area.
An official confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and search operation had been launched in this Pulwama area after receiving specific inputs about Militant movement in the area.
The cordon ended peacefully, as no Militants were found in the area.
However the locals from the Narwa area told The Kashmiriyat that during the operation, many civilians were ruthlessly thrashed and used them as human shields to search various houses in the area.
“They forced the locals to lead their path into various houses using them as human shields,” a local alleged.
The Army meanwhile denied the allegations of excesses in the area.
