‘No Rule of Law in Jammu Kashmir Now;- Two PDP Leaders Detained

Two top leaders of the People’s Democratic Party PDP including Sartaj Madani, the maternal uncle Mehbooba Mufti, have been put under detention, a PDP Spokesman told The Kashmiriyat.

The top leaders include Sartaj Madani and Peer Mansoor Ahmed, the former MLA of Shangus constituency.

“They have been detained as a preventive measure,” the spokesman of PDP said.

The duo including dozens of mainstream workers and leaders were booked under the Public Safety Act last year after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A.

Their PSA detention orders were revoked by the administration in June this year.

Mehbooba Mufti condemning the arrest on Twitter said, “Total lawlessness as PDPs Sartaj Madni & Mansoor Hussain have been arbitrarily detained today on the eve of DDC election results. Every senior police officer here is clueless as it is ‘upar say order’. No rule of law in J&K anymore. It is out & out Gunda Raj.”
