
The Jammu Kashmir Police on Wednesday arrested two drug peddlers in the Kulgam district of South Kashmir.
As per an official press release, at about 1200 hours Police party from Police Station Kulgam led by I/C SHO Kulgam SI Imtiyaz Malik under the supervision of DySP HQRs Kulgam Ghulam Mohd Bhat-JKPS established a Naka near Tehsil office Kulgam and intercepted two suspected persons.
The suspects after noticing police party tried to flee from the spot but with strenuous efforts of the police party present, both the persons were apprehended tactfully.
After going through checking of the persons, officers present were able to recover 22 Bottles of illicit Liquor from their possession.
The arrested were identified as Mohd Younis Ganie R/O Panipora and Firdous Ahmad Lone, R/O Chawalgam.
In this connection case with FIR No.234/2020 U/S 48 Excise Act has been registered and further investigation into the matter has been taken up Police station Kulgam.
The Kulgam Police has said that it asks the community members to come forward with any information regarding anti social activities in their neighbourhood.
District police Kulgam warns of stringent action against those persons whosoever found indulging in anti social activities and will be dealt strictly under law.
