DC Anantnag Visits Various Areas of the District to Monitor Arrangements Amid Heavy Snowfall

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Mr. K K Sidha today made an extensive tour to various areas of the district and personally monitored the snow clearance operations, restoration of electricity and water supply, besides ensuring availability of essential commodities like ration, medicines, cooking gas, etc.. in the whole district, responding promptly to the challenges thrown by inclement weather and heavy snowfall in the district.

Mr. Siddha visited SDH Bijbihara and Emergency Hospital, Qazigund in early morning and inspected the stock of medicines, power supply and heating arrangements there. He also interacted with the patients and directed the health officials to ensure quality health care facilities and heating arrangements to the patients.

He also visited the Navyug Qazigund to Banihal 4 Lane tunnel and enquired about the status of its completion from the concerned authorities.

Later on he visited Vessu, Khiram, Sirigufwara and other areas of the District and took stock of the snow clearance operations, power restoration and availability of essential items there.

He directed the officials of the Food, Health, Power, Mechanical, Jal Shakti, R&B, PMGSY and other departments to activate their men and machinery in mission mode besides coordinating with each other to ensure uninterrupted supply of the essential items and services in the district.

Moreover, the SDMs, Tehsildars, officials of Municipal Committees and other line departments have been directed to remain stationed at their locations and ensure prompt delivery of essential items and services to the public and to address their emergency demands with utmost preparedness
