People demanded that the authorities must open the district hospital Ganderbal so that patients do not face any problems and yesterday the Commissioner Health made it clear that District Hospital Ganderbal will be opened for the general public soon.

The Mini maternity Center Wayil was made a few years ago so that the people living in remote areas, especially women suffering from maternity issues, did not have to go to the far off hospitals at the time of delivery, but the hospital was not operational until the year 2020, resulting in problems faced by the localities including Nuner , Serech, Gutlibagh, Wayil, Manigam, and other adjacent areas.

With the outbreak of the Global epidemic coronavirus from March 2020, the authorities converted the district hospital Ganderbal into COVID-19 hospital after which the Mini Maternity hospital Wayil was made functional and all the work of the district hospital Ganderbal was carried out at Wayil Hospital.

The demand of the people involved in the protest was that if the authorities have decided to make district hospital Ganderbal functional as its old status but the doctors should also be kept in this mini maternity hospital so the locals do not face any inconvenience.

CMO Ganderbal Dr Mehraj U Din told The Kashmiriyat that after converting the district hospital Ganderbal into COVID19 all the functioning was operated in the mini maternity center and now the District hospital is being restarted.

He said that this mini maternity will also be kept in the hospital so that people do not have to face problems.
