Fresh Snowfall in Most Parts of Kashmir- Weather to Remain Dry from Tomorrow

Snowfall has started again on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday in most parts of the Kashmir valley.

On Wednesday, after the improvement in the weather, efforts were being made to bring normal life back on track by removing the snow which was causing trouble in the Kashmir Valley.

After the snow was removed from many roads, people had just breathed a sigh of relief that once again the snowfall has started forcing the closure of roads.
Snowfall in Kashmir is a relief for tourists but it increases the difficulty of the locals, Due to severe cold, the water pipelines has frozen. Most parts of the Kashmir valley are still submerged in darkness,

An official told The Kashmiriyat that many plains of Kashmir have accumulated 4 inches of snow. He said that Anantnag has received 2-3 inches of a fresh snowfall, Shopian 2-3 inches, Pulwama 3-4, Bandipora 1-2 inches, Budgam 2-3, Yousmarg 3 inches, Ganderbal 2 -3 inches and Srinagar 2-3 inches. Various other parts up north have also received snowfall.

In view of the weather conditions in the valley, Cluster University Srinagar has issued an order to postpone all the examinations to be held today.

The Meteorological Department has said that there was a light snowfall in most places of Kashmir, although the weather in Jammu and Ladakh will be dry.

This trend of light snowfall will continue for the next few hours. The weather is likely to remain dry from tomorrow till 20 January.
