Two drug peddlers were arrested by JK Police in district Ganderbal of Kashmir region. In a press release issued to The Kashmiriyat, the Police said that the bootlegged bhang powder was recovered from the two accused persons from their belongings.
Committed to destroy the drug peril and abuse from the society, JK Police made great progress and in this connection, a back to back search operation was held against drug peddling mafias in District Ganderbal on Friday January 15th, 2020 which was reported to The Kashmiriyat by a police official.
As early it was alarmed by JK Police in Ganderbal that a drug smuggler was arrested at a naka point at Peerpora, district Ganderbal with a shipload of 900 gms of bhang powder and a cash amount of rupees 240500/- from his possession and accordingly an FIR No. 03/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered against accused at Police Station Ganderbal.
In another routine naka checking at same place Peerpora near Qamaria Ground in district Ganderbal, a similar case occurred as another person namely Bashir Ahmed Khan, a resident of Hajam Mohalla Saloora, Ganderbal was found drifting in suspicious manner near a naka point, while interference by Police Naka Party lead by SHO Police Station Ganderbal, INSP Khurshid Awan and accordingly the Naka Party examined the said person and 3kgs of bhang powder was recovered from his possession. The peddler was siezed, bootlegged consignment was captured on spot.
In this regard a case FIR No. 05/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been taken up as the police offical said talking to The Kashmiriyat.
Locals of the area have peppered the back to back action of JK Police Ganderbal and expect that this type of action against drug menace shall continue in the future also.
