Burglars Loot Six shops, 23,000 from a Mosque in Verinag

Burglars broke lockers at a Masjid during the intervening night in Qamar Verinag area of Anantnag District and decamped with the cash of amount 23000 rupees.

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the burglars struck at six Shops and Masjid Shareef located at Qamar Verinag during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

They said the burglars broke the locker of Masjid Sharif and decamped with all the cash amount of 23000.

As soon as the locals heard the sounds from the Masjid, they chased and caught two burglars on spot namely Shabir Ahmad Shah and Manzoor Ahmad Malik both residents of Manzgam area of Kulgam and seized a Sumo vehicle bearing Registration JK02V 7392.

Later on, Locals informed to the nearest police station and handed over both the burglars along with the vehicle to the police.

Police registered a case in this regard and said they have taken cognizance of the case and started further investigation.
