The High Court Judge , Administrative Judge Anantnag, Executive Chairman Legal Services Authority JK & Ladakh and Chairman Building Infrastructure Committee Subordinate Courts JK & Ladakh, Justice Ali Mohammad Magray accompanied by Justice V. C Koul (Member BICSCs) today made an extensive tour of Anantnag.
He started his tour with an inspection of the proposed site for the District Court Complex at Sarnal.
Justice Magray was informed that out of 56 kanals of state land identified for the said complex, 40 kanals have been allotted and the allotment for the rest is under process.
While directing the concerned officers to expedite the process of allotment and the construction work for the complex, then he said that the development of Judicial Infrastructure and provision of all facilities to Courts in J&K remains his top priority.
Later the justice visited the District Court to review its functioning. As he reached there, he received a guard of honor from the contingent of JK police.
Reiterating his commitment for speedy justice, Justice Magray directed the Judges and Presiding officers to settle old cases on priority, so the litigants leave the courts satisfied.
Interacting with the members of the District Bar Association, he stressed on acquiring thorough legal knowledge and practice with integrity, honesty and fairness.
“As warriors of justice, there is an additional responsibility on us to ensure the process of justice delivery becomes affordable and accessible for the people,” he remarked.
The members of the Bar raised few demands which among others include, the development of infrastructure in subordinate courts, the provision of Chambers to lawyers and the establishment of matrimonial courts. Justice Magray assured that all their genuine demands would be fulfilled in a time-bound manner.
Thereafter, he inaugurated the community toilet block in the court complex.
As an important part of his tour, Justice Magray presided over the Mega Services and Awareness camp as Chief Guest at Government Boys Degree College, Khanabal Anantnag.
Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Anshul Garg informed him about the achievements of the district regarding the implementation of various development and beneficiary-oriented schemes.
Principal District and Session Judge Naseer Ahmad Dar, chairman DLSA and Sub Judge Rafia Khaki, (secretary DLSA) apprised the justice about activities of the authority.
They informed him that DLSA has extended its reach to far-off places and to the marginalized sections with great success.
Addressing the large public gathering, Justice Magray called for greater coordination among administration, public and legal authorities.
As Executive Chairman of the Legal Services Authority, it is my utmost responsibility to ensure justice delivery at your doorsteps,” he assured the public.
He also advised the public to take advantage of the various government-sponsored welfare schemes besides pressing the authorities for their legitimate legal & genuine rights.
Justice Magray impressed upon the officers to ensure smooth implementation of the schemes, so the principles of Socio-economic Justice as enshrined in the constitution are envisaged.
While hailing the efforts of district civil & police administration and DLSA, he highlighted the need for better commitment to enhancing public service & justice delivery.
Justice Magray on the occasion inspected the departmental stalls and felicitated the beneficiaries with sanction orders, loan certificates, hearing aids, motorized tricycles etc.
Besides, on-spot registration of scores of beneficiaries was carried during the camp.
Justice Magray, while kick-starting the plantation drive in the college emphasized on the conservation of the environment.
“We should make it a habit to plant trees in our vicinity and inculcate this behaviour in the young generation,” he emphasized.
