Students Allege Colleges in Ganderbal Denying them Admission

The recent 12th Class pass-out students are now heading towards Colleges for Ist Semester admission, however, most of the students allege that GDC Ganderbal and GDC Kangan have denied them admissions, which is leading to frustration among students.

Many students from Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district speaking to The Kashmiriyat alleged that they have recently passed the 12th class exam and now they are applying for admission in various colleges but GDC Ganderbal and Kangan are not granting admissions to them.

Students said that when they went to GDC Kangan and Ganderbal for admissions, the college officials told them that all the seats had been filled.

Demanding admissions, The students said that the college administration should take concrete steps in this regard as soon as possible so that their careers would not be ruined.

“We come from far-flung villages and as a result of the short time available we want to take admission in the nearest colleges at Kangan or Ganderbal, but unfortunately the college administration is still failing to grant us admissions,” a student told The Kashmiriyat.

The Kashmiriyat spoke to the Principal Government Degree College Ganderbal (GDC) Bashir Ahmad Parray, he said that this year college was allotted only 960 seats and the quota has already been filled and the college has no more capacity.

He said that the College administration has written to the director and the matter will be resolved soon.
