Covid-19 Lockdown violations: 910 violators fined, 94 FIRs registered & 184 arrested

Police seek public cooperation to mitigate the spread of the virus.

Continuing its efforts to curb the outbreak of 2nd wave of Coronavirus, J&K Police has enhanced its efforts to sensitize the masses about controlling the highly contagious Coronavirus. Police have also enhanced the efforts to implement the Covid-19 guidelines/SOPs/restrictions strictly throughout the valley. A slew of measures, including restrictions under section 144, has been put into place to contain the spread of Covid-19.

During the last 24hrs, police arrested 184 persons, lodged 94 FIRs, and realized a fine to the tune of ₹1,41,840/- from 910 people for violating the guidelines/rules throughout Kashmir valley. Besides, 44 vehicles were also seized in Shopian for violating guidelines/restrictions.

The special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/ guidelines envisaged by the government to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.

Community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/ protocols for the safety of the people. The special drive shall continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures.
