Pakistani Senate Passes a Joint Resolution Ahead of the All Parties’ Meeting

On Wednesday, the Pakistani Senate passed a joint resolution in the wake of the ‘All Parties Meeting of Jammu Kashmir’ leaders on June 24, 2021.

Various opposition parties and the Pakistani government came together to pass the Resolution. The statement “reiterates its strongest condemnation of the Indian Government’s grossly illegal actions” after August, 2019.

The statement calls upon to enable the people of Kashmir to exercise their inalienable right of self-determination in accordance with the UNSC resolutions.

Further, the statement demands reversion to the pre August 5 status and the release of all political prisoners.

It also demanded “immediate cessation of attempts to change the demographic balance” in the region. The statement ended by saluting the Kashmiri people’s resistance.

Senators Dr. Zarqa Suharwardi Taimur, Waliq Iqbal, Mushahid Hussain Sayed and Sherry Rehman were the signatories of the joint statement.
