Husband Dies Under Mysterious Circumstances 3 Days After Wedding, Wife Arrested

Begum a widow and another person Javaid Ahmad Teli, have been arrested in Kupwara Groom’s mysterious death case that has happened in June last month. Police and family confirmed the detentions.

Hailing from Wavoora in the Lolab Area of Kupwara, Javaid Ahmad Sheikh had died under mysterious conditions three days after his wedding.

While the widow’s father Ali Mohammad Teli affirmed her daughter’s arrest, addressing the media he said, “My daughter is innocent, she should be released forthwith and the case should be investigated and solved.”

He further said that he has met his daughter twice since her arrest.

Begum(25) has been placed in Baramulla jail and the other accused involved, Javaid is in Kupwara Jail.

Sheikh had married Begum on June 6 and had died three days after his wedding, when collapsed in his house.

He was rushed to a local health care facility where poisonous stuff had been spotted in his body. Following the incident ,the natives had taken out a protest march demanding strict action in the case.

However, The Kashmiriyat tried to speak to various Police officials who refused to comment on the “Sensitive issue.”
