Kashmiri Pandits Celeberate Raksha Bandhan with fervour and Gaiety.

Raksha Bandhan celebrated with traditional fervour across Jammu Kashmir on Sunday. A large number of people thronged several temples to pay their obeisance. Women were seen tying the sacred threads (Rakhis) on the wrists of their brothers.

People who observed a fast on the occasion relished delicacies and sweets in the evening, specially prepared for the festival.

“The festival carries a message of love and harmony, Raksha Badhan is also about family get-together and bonding,” said Sanjay Raina, a Kashmiri Pandit of vessu Colony Qazigund.

Raksha Bandhan was also celebrated at Veeran Pandit Colony Baramulla, sacred thread were tied on the wrists as a message of love and brotherhood.

It was also celebrated with gaiety mattan Lukbawan etc of South kashmir’s Anantnag district. Temples were also beautifully decorated to make the festive occasion. Special prayers were also held for prosperity of the Union Territory.
