
Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday claimed to have recovered over Rs one crore during searches at Saryah village of Rajouri district.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that based on credible inputs, District Police Rajouri and Army launched a joint search operation at village Saryah today.
During the search, two bags were detected from which currency notes amounting to Rs 1,64,70, 600 (One crore, Sixty-four lakh, seventy thousand and six hundred) were recovered, the statement said.
“On enquiry, it was found that the bags belonged to Manzoor Ahmad, son of Gulzar Hussain of Saryah, who is presently evading arrest,” the statement said, adding that the person is relative of one Sikandar of Saryah village, who was recently arrested by a joint team of Punjab Police and JKP in FIR number 164/2021 of PS Kathu Nangal (Punjab).
“The amount was seized in the presence of a magistrate and FIR number 184/2021 under section 17, 21 UAP Act, 1967 has been lodged in police station Nowshera and investigation has been taken up,” officials said, adding that further arrests are also expected—(KNO)
