52-Year-Old Man Killed In Bear Attack at Palbuth Soaf Shali, Kokernag

A 52-year-old man was mauled to death by a wild bear in Soaf Shali in Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday.

Locals said that the man identified as Abdul Rasheed Bhat son of Mohd Sultan Bhat was attacked in Palbuth, while he took his cattle out for grazing. Bhat was grievously injured by a wild bear in his native village of Soafshali, Kokernag.

Soon, the locals rushed towards the spot but found Rasheed dead, here.

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that at least 3 wild bears were roaming in the area, while they had also tried to enter nearby houses.

The wild bears pose a great threat tonthe residents of Bhat Mohallah Soafshali.

The residents, here, appealed to district admin take step to capture these wild bears.
