The Central Reserve Police Force will send five additional companies to Jammu and Kashmir in wake of recent civilian killings in the Union Territory, the CRPF said on Tuesday, as per a tweet by ANI.
The tweet also added that these companies will be deployed there within a week. The force earlier sent 25 companies in Jammu Kashmir.
It is pertinent to mention that after 13 civilian killings within the month of October, in the month of November so far, 2 targeted killings were reported.
A civilian was shot dead in Downtown, Srinagar on Monday. A cop was also killed on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the LG of the erstwhile state, Manoj Sinha, was reportedly set to chair a security review meeting at the Civil Secretariat today.
