The residents of Jahangir Colony Muslim Abad, Warpora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district are up in protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) which failed to charge the transformer in the village installed two years ago.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, residents said that the transformer was installed two years ago under DDUGJY scheme, but so far it has not been charged by the department, leaving people to suffer.

Locals said, “they fail to understand the reasons for the department delaying the charging of the transformer which was installed at the village before two years.”

“We have informed the concerned officials several times, but nothing has been done as of yet,” added locals

The residents appealed the Executive Engineer, KPDCL Project Division Baramulla for his immediate intervention into the issue.
