Police in Baramulla on Monday claimed to have seized 03 vehicles for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
In a statement, issued to The Kashmiriyat, the police said that, Baramulla Police under the supervision of Sh. Mohammad Nawaz Khanday-JKPS, SDPO Pattan assisted by Inspr. Nisar Ahmad, SHO PS Pattan & SI Riyaz Ahmad, IC PP Wussan seized 1 JCB (Earth Excavator) & 2 Tractors for being involved in extracting minerals illegally at Aglar Pattan, district Baramulla.
“Violators were taking undue advantage of pandemic situation by extracting minerals illegally to the detriment of people health, the ecology and the revenue of the government,” the statement reads.
Police requests the people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules.
