Alleges ‘use and throw policy’ by admin

The National Health Mission (NHM) contractual employees on Saturday staged a protest against their termination at Press Enclave Srinagar, demanding continued services of the terminated employees.

Talking to a news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), President of NHM ECRP Shahid Bashir said, “We are the same employees who worked and put our lives at risk when Covid-19 hit the country in year 2019, 2020, and 2021, instead of utilising experienced health employees, the government is using people from the educational department for it”.

He added: “Government has issued an order before 3 months for extending our disengagement for more than 3 months but instead of extending our services we are being disengaged from our services.

He further said, “Government used us like a tissue paper and termed this as a use and throw policy by the administration.”

“If according to the government Covid is no more then why are night curfews being imposed and why covid protocols to be followed?” Bashir said.

“We request and appeal from the government for the renewal of our contracts and we demand continued services for the terminated employees,” they said—(KNO)
