A day after the sixth anniversary of Mufti Mohammed Sayed, the former home minister of India, the officials have demanded the booking of eleven persons for violating Covid protocols in South Kashmir’s Bijbehara area, where a Fateh Khawani was offered to the deceased PDP patron.
In a copy of the order, accessed by The Kashmiriyat, the executive magistrate (tehsildar) of Bijbehara has forwarded a complaint to the Station House Officer in Bijbehara asking him to register an FIR against the organizers of the rally, which includes the senior leader of People’s Democratic Party, Sartaj Madni and its spokesperson, Najm u Saqib.
“Regarding the subject, it is to intimate that following organizers of Peoples Democratic organized a large gathering today on 07.01.2022 at the tomb of Ex. CM Mufti Mohoamgmad Syed at Padshahi Bagh Zirpara Bijbehara in complete violation of SOP’s and COVID-19 and another related epidemic,” the complaint reads.
The organizers are Abdul Rehman Veeray, Javaid Ahmad Sheikh, Najmun Saqib, Sartaj Madni, Majid Ahmad Khan, Abdul Majeed Rangraiz, Showkat Ahmad Teeli, Mufti Sarwar, Arshid Ahmad Ganie, Nazir Ahmad Vaid,” the complaint further reads.
“As such you are directed to book these persons under the relevant Section of law with an intimation to this office immediately,” the magistrate has said in his complaint.
On Friday, hundreds of PDP workers had gathered in Zirpora in Bijbehera to pay tributes to Mufti Mohammed Sayed- the former Home Minister of India. Earlier the PDP workers were not allowed to march towards the graveyard, however after protests by Mehbooba Mufti and the PDP workers, the workers made it to the resting place of Mehbooba Mufti.
Covid 19 restrictions apply only to PDP. Not to BJP’s protest in Kashmir yesterday, PMs rally in Punjab or the mass poojas attended by hundreds of people to pray for his safety. Talks volumes about J&K admin’s brazen bias against my party. https://t.co/AnvL0riCMD
