Fire & Emergency Services aspirants stage protest, Demand filling up of vacancies

Aspirants of Fire and Emergency department, who had applied for various departmental posts held a protest on Tuesday demanding filling up of the vacancies.

Aspirants of various posts across Kashmir assembled at Press Enclave, Srinagar, holding placards to press for their demands.

“Since 2013, we have had to take three written and physical tests, but when it came to results, there was deception. The papers were leaked. Later, an exam was conducted in 2020 and an old physical test was considered. But the paper was leaked again,” the protesting aspirants said.

“We have the proof of paper leak but we are not allowed to present this proof in court. Why is there no investigation for the scam that took place?” asked the protesting aspirants.

“We want this issue to be looked into. We demand that the remaining vacancies are filled as soon as possible, so we don’t suffer. We are crossing the upper age limit and we have been following these posts for nearly eight years. This is injustice with us,” they added.

“We are still lingering and we don’t have any hope of future now. We urge the L.G. Manoj Sinha to resolve our issue as soon as possible and expedite the investigation into the paper leakage scam,” said the protestors.
