COVID-19: J&K reports 53 fresh cases, no death

Sgr reports 14 cases; Case tally at 453,323 death toll stands at 4,749, active cases reach to 320, recovery rate reaches 98.88

Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday reported 53 fresh cases pushing the number of active cases to 320 while no death was reported in the last 24 hours in the UT.

With no more deaths, the death toll in J&K stands at 4,749 and 53 fresh positive cases reported on Tuesday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 453,323.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 53 new cases, 32 belong to Kashmir division while as 21 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached 287,200 including 284,606 recoveries and 2,423 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 166,123 including 163,648 recoveries and 2,326 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 320 including 171 from Kashmir division and 149 from Jammu division.

With 58 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 448,254 which is 98.88 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 14 from Srinagar, 11 from Baramulla, 00 from Budgam, 00 from Pulwama, 06 from Kupwara, 00 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 01 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 21 from Jammu division include 14 from Jammu district, 00 from Udhampur, 01 from Rajouri, 03 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 03 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.

As per officials figures, 102,293 positive cases including 907 deaths and 101,279 recoveries are from Srinagar, 37,612 including 304 deaths and 37,268 recoveries are from Baramulla, 34,806 including 34,567 recoveries and 237 deaths are from Budgam, 18,418 including 18,215 recoveries and 201 deaths are from Pulwama, 21,730 including 174 deaths and 21,545 recoveries are from Kupwara, 22,419 including 22,200 recoveries and 219 deaths are from Anantnag, 13,678 cases including 13,555 and 118 deaths are from Bandipora, 13,626 including 13,542 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Ganderbal, 16,314 including 16,191 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Kulgam and 6,304 including 6,244 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 76,099 including 74,774 recoveries and 1,222 deaths are from Jammu district, 14,764 including 14,615 recoveries and 147 deaths are from Udhampur, 12,801 including 12,549 recoveries and 249 deaths are from Rajouri, 11,509 including 11,347 recoveries and 144 deaths are from Doda, 11,405 including 11,238 recoveries and 166 deaths are from Kathua, 9,083 including 8,957 recoveries and 125 deaths are from Samba, 5,888 including 5,834 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,738 including 7,626 recoveries and 110 deaths are from Poonch, 8,135 including 8,057 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ramban and 8,701 including 8,651 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,181,749 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 32,712 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 320 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 5,689,363 persons have completed the surveillance period and 454,605 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 23,609,405 samples are available. Out of 23,609,405 the number of samples tested negative stands at 23,156,082 while as 453,323 have tested positive, among them 320 cases are active, 448,254 have recovered and 4,749 persons have died—(KNO)
