Senior Rajya Sabha MP and BJP senior leader Subramanian Swamy has said that the prerequisite to the return of Kashmiri Pandits is to ensure their safety.
The BJP MP was in Srinagar on Saturday where he participated in ‘Navreh’ festival celebrations.
Swamy called for raising an Army of ex-soldiers who can settle down in Kashmir with the Kashmiri Pandits to ensure their safety.
“Kashmiri Pandits have survived a massacre and it should never happen again. The Government should ensure the safe return of Pandits and there needs to be a proper mechanism in place to facilitate the return of Kashmiri Pandits to the valley,” he said.
“Ex-soldiers should be allowed to settle in Kashmir. These soldiers wil protect Kashmiri Pandits as they know how to handle weaponry,” Swamy said.
