Tourists who throng Thajiwas area of health resort Sonamarg have been facing a lot of inconvenience due to dilapidated roads and damaged footbridges.
Showing keenness to visit Thajiwas Glacier, but once the tourists visit the spot, they lament the poor condition of the footbridges that pose a serious risk to them.

These bridges should be repaired without any delay as Thajiwas is the most visited and preferred place in Sonamarg,” a tourist told The Kashmiriyat
Locals said that the wooden bridges over Thajwas Nala were built many years ago and are not repaired frequently by the Sonamarg Development Authority.
Hundreds of tourists and people associated with tourism pass through these bridges every day. Dilapidated bridges not only cause problems to tourists and locals but also endanger lives and property if the bridge collapsed.
