
Srinagar Police on Tuesday arrested two non-local maids who fled with cash, while on the way to Delhi.
Police spokesperson in a statement said that today one complainant namely Muzamil Hayat S/o Faiz ur- rehman R/o Qadeem masjid lane in Lal Bazar Srinagar approached police station Lalbazar with a written complaint that they have hired one maid through Karishma Maid Bureau through an online platform and on 9th May 2022, at around 03:30 pm.
The Karishma Maid Bureau sent the maid namely Archana Chauhan along with the agent namely Rajini Jha at their home.
An amount of advance of one year amounting to 74 thousand Rupees was given to the agent. However to our surprise both the helper and the agent fled from our house in the wee hours of the morning along with the advance payment of 74 thousand Rupees.
Based on this information a case under FIR no. 26/2022 U/S 420, 120 IPC was registered at police station lalbazar.
Acting swiftly, various teams were constituted under the supervision of SDPO Hazaratbal and SHO lalbazar to nab the agent and helper.
Taking advantage of Technical and human sources, both these ladies were arrested from Qazigund area within hours along with the advance cash payment of 74,000.
General public is requested to contact the police for ascertaining authenticity of various maid consultancies running online or offline and police verification of maids before they are hired/employed.
